Generate an llms.txt from your sitemap

What the draft contains
- An H1 with your site’s name and a one-line blockquote: what you do, for whom, and what it costs. Write this line yourself; assistants quote it.
- One section per part of your site (the first folder of the URL, or the language prefix), with one line per page: its title as the link text and its meta description after a colon.
- Only pages a search engine may index: noindex pages and pages whose canonical points elsewhere are left out, so the file matches what crawlers see.
Publish it in three steps
- Edit the draft: fix the summary line, drop pages nobody should be sent to, and check that every fact matches your pages.
- Save it as llms.txt at the root of your site (public/ or static/ in most frameworks).
- Open https://your-site.com/llms.txt: it should answer 200 with text/plain. Update it when your prices or pages change.

Frequently asked questions
Does llms.txt help me rank in ChatGPT or Google?
Not by itself. Google says it doesn’t use llms.txt, and nobody has shown that it moves rankings. Treat it as a short routing file that tells an AI agent which pages matter; it takes minutes, so it’s cheap to have, but the pages it points to do the work.
Why are some of my pages missing from the draft?
We open at most 30 pages, starting with the homepage and the order of your sitemap, and we leave out pages that are noindex, pages whose canonical points to another URL, and pages that don’t answer 200 with HTML. The result shows how many were left out and why.
Where do I put the file?
At the root of your domain, as plain text: https://your-site.com/llms.txt. In most frameworks that means the public/ or static/ folder. Then open the URL in a browser to check it answers 200 with text/plain.
What do you store?
Nothing about the result. We fetch your public pages once to draft the file and keep only a short-lived rate-limit counter for your connection.
