How much does GEO cost in 2026?

Short answer

Done-for-you GEO (generative engine optimization) costs about $1,500 to $5,000 a month for small and mid-sized companies and $3,000 to $8,000 a month for B2B SaaS, usually with a 90-day first term. Most sellers start with a paid diagnostic between $390 and $4,370, credited to the first month. Enterprise work runs $10,000 a month and up. We read these prices on the sellers' own pricing pages on 15 and 16 October 2026.

The short answer

Done-for-you GEO, someone else researching the questions, writing the pages and measuring what assistants say, costs between about $1,500 and $8,000 a month for most SaaS companies in October 2026. Where you land depends on three things: who you sell to, how many pages a month you buy, and whether off-site work (placements, PR, community mentions) is included. Almost every seller starts with a paid diagnostic and asks for a 90-day first term.

We read every price below on the seller’s own pricing page on 15 or 16 October 2026. Prices change; check the page before you rely on a number.

Price bands by buyer

Buyer Monthly retainer One-time entry Rough price per page
Local business, small shop $395 to $1,600 $99 to $999 $15 to $100
Small and mid-sized company, e-commerce $1,500 to $5,000 $500 to $1,300 about $50
B2B SaaS, mid-market $3,000 to $8,000 $1,300 to $4,400 diagnostic $265 to $370
Upper mid-market and enterprise $10,000 to $16,000 and up $10,000 to $15,000 blueprint not published

The same “30 pages a month” sells for $1,597 at one seller and for $8,000 or €10,995 at two others. The page count is not the price driver. The buyer is, together with what comes attached: comparison and alternatives pages, attribution to sign-ups or pipeline, weekly citation tracking on a fixed question set, and off-site placements.

Several large agencies publish no price and quote after a call; third-party roundups put them at $5,000 to $20,000 a month. We left those out of the table because we could not read the number ourselves.

What you should get for the money

Compare offers on these points rather than on the monthly number:

  1. A baseline before any work. The questions your buyers ask, asked in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google, with who was named and which pages were cited. Without a baseline nobody can show you a change.
  2. Pages written for buyer questions. For a SaaS that means use-case pages, honest alternatives and comparison pages, integration pages and plain-text pricing. “Blog posts” alone rarely match the question a buyer types.
  3. Technical fixes that let crawlers read you. Marketing pages readable without JavaScript, the logged-in app kept out of the index, structured data and llms.txt. Our free AI crawler checker shows the first part in a minute.
  4. The same questions, re-asked on a schedule. Every 14 or 30 days, with raw answers you can read yourself.
  5. A clear line on off-site work. Placements and mentions cost extra at most SaaS-focused sellers ($1,000 to $3,000 a month at one). Ask whether they are in the price.

When doing it yourself is cheaper

If you or your team build the site with an AI coding tool, most of the work above is fixes and pages your tool can make once it knows exactly what to change. That is what Katman Pro does for $99 a month: it audits the live site the way crawlers read it, hands your coding tool each fix with an acceptance check, and briefs every page. Expect 30 to 60 hours of your time in the first month. The agency vs do-it-yourself comparison has the hours in detail.

If you would rather have the pages written for you, Growth is $1,490 a month for 30 pages a month for one SaaS site, with the fixes and a dated assistant report every 30 days. Nobody, us included, can promise that an assistant will recommend you; what you can hold any seller to is the work, the dates and an honest before and after.

Who this is not for

  • Enterprise teams running a formal vendor selection: ask for proposals, references and a scope in writing.
  • Anyone looking for a promise of being named by ChatGPT: no seller can make one.
  • Readers who want software prices only: see the comparison of AI visibility tools instead.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a GEO agency cost per month?

Of the sellers that publish prices, small-business plans start around $400 to $1,600 a month, B2B SaaS plans run $3,000 to $8,000, and enterprise plans start at $10,000. The price follows the buyer and what is attached (comparison pages, attribution, off-site placements), not the page count alone.

What does a GEO audit or diagnostic cost?

Between $390 and $4,370 one-time at the sellers we read, delivered in 72 hours to 30 days. Most credit the fee to the first month if you sign within 14 to 30 days. Gig marketplaces list one-off GEO tasks from about $30 to $600, which usually means schema and llms.txt work, not research or pages.

Why does the same 30 pages a month cost $1,600 at one agency and $8,000 at another?

Who the buyer is. Plans for local businesses and shops sell volume. Plans for B2B SaaS sell commercial pages (alternatives, comparisons, use cases), attribution to pipeline and weekly citation tracking, and price per page goes from about $50 to $265 to $370.

Do GEO agencies guarantee results?

Most that sell to SaaS say plainly that they don't promise rankings or citations, and replace a promise with a measured baseline and the same questions re-asked every 30 days. One small-business seller offers a conditional traffic promise. Nobody can promise an assistant will name you.

How long is a typical GEO contract?

A 90-day first term or pilot is the norm, then month to month. Higher tiers often ask for 6 months. Some sellers take a discount of $500 to $2,000 a month off for a longer commitment.

What does Katman charge?

Growth, done for you, is $1,490 a month for 30 pages a month for one SaaS site, first term 3 months. The Launch Pack is $990 once for a diagnostic and 30 pages in 14 days, credited to Growth within 30 days. Katman Pro, the do-it-yourself MCP, is $99 a month.
